CCKB replacement progress

Recommended Posts

It took me about 4 hours to pull the CCKB, including figuring out how to rig a hoist in the shed, and including a lot of sheet metal, the seat, and the dust covers in front of the seat and underneath the tractor. I found a previously unknown hydro fluid leak. Used up another two hours in a failed attempt to fix a broker power washer. I ended up cleaning with WalMart oven cleaner and a hose. The new engine is in place. The pulleys in back and the front clutch are installed. The belts are giving me a bit of trouble, as I have never done the before. I think it will go easily once I figure how to hold down the clutch pedal. The engine, from SEW, arrived two days early via a very helpful truck driver. He was well rewarded with fresh plums, peaches and apples. The only problem so far is that one hole on one flange on the muffler doesn't match the engine. I modified the hole, because I didn't want to slow things down to wait for a replacement. The oil drain extension as too short to reach the old drain hole in the frame, so I replaced it with an 18" piece of 1/2" PCV hose, since I had to go to Autozone anyway for fuel line and new battery cables. The drain plug in the new Vanguard has been replaced with a nice valve, opened with a small wrench. The engine is very nicely set up by SEW, with all components attached to the engine and a chart of the wiring they added to the engine. I hop to finish today. I'll put up a progress report this evening.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
