replacing old style Landlord pto switch w/ new

Hi all, I have a mid 90's Landlord with the old style "pull and lift" switch, and it is beginning to wear out, have to rock it back and forth to get it to engage. Just replaced the pto itself, may as well do the switch. My question is that the parts list calls for a new wiring harness to the switch, but no one seems to sell it. Is this correct or can just the switch be replaced? Thanks in advance for your answer.

Unfortunately all stickers are gone, but I bought it used . It was a 16 hp B&S hydro with a 50" in deck. I have since re-powered it to an 18hp. I see on line that there is a kit to convert to a push pull type switch with an adapter connector that the wires from the old connector must be attached to. Could this be what I need?

Hard to tell what you need without a mfg. no. I will see what I have for manuals and check them. Do you know the part number you need? There are PTO switches on ebay, but you would need to know the part number. I would contact another dealer to make sure that the one your dealing with knows what he is talking about. Here are some PTO switches on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=simplicity+pto+switch&_sacat=159912&_odkw=simplicity&_osacat=159912 Contact this guy. Do you have a hydro or is it gear driven? Does your tractor look like anything in this manual? http://bsintek.basco.com/BriggsDocumentDisplay/default.aspx?filename=jgEDGP_cuI2tG5EIb7mRgtLvBCd6

It is a hydro unit with the hand control and is identical to that unit. the seat is also the early style, if that helps. I'm off to work, I'll try to find some numbers tomorrow morning.

In the manual above on page 36,reference no. 26 is part number 1713487 and supercedes to part number 1722887. The link below says it is $16.30 http://www.jackssmallengines.com/searchdb2.cfm

I know this is a old post but I’m having the same trouble trying to find the lift and pull pto switch for my AGCO Allis 1718H. Any help would be appreciated as I love mowing with this tractor.
