B1 not charging battery

Recommended Posts

Ok, here is the low down, I have 14.5volts at the regulator, I have 14.5 volts where that same charging wire attaches to the lower stud on the pushbutton for the electric start, but on the other side of that button I only have 12.75 or battery voltage, no charging unless I push the button while its running, but that also engages the starter at the same time. Is there a diode circuit internaly in that push button and I have contact problems internaly that isnt completing the charging circuit when the button isnt being pushed? Are these starter buttons available if mine is bad? It starts ok, just have a break in the charging circuit. Mike
