Went to an auction Saturday There were around 60 antique push mowers.

The next one caught my eye:

Needless to say I brought it home. Its a 1974 Allis Chalmers Strider mower. It is self-propelled and came with the grass catcher and original cover plate, baffles, and owners manual.

Needs some clean up and TLC but does run. Also got a model 19 to rebuild for my Simplicity 700.

Highlights of the sale were: original Snapper "turtle" mower: $200 REO push mower: $200 Mayrath Garden tractor $3600. Cunningham 1 cylinder engine $300. Took a train pic or two while I was out.

Then I made some stripes courtesy of the Landlord.

Nice mower, been on the lookout for something like it myself. And love the crossed stripes! My yard is too small to mow crossways but sure like the look! Nobody does it better than Simplicity. Steve
