John,
Sim sure did make a Diesel Sovereign, the 18.5 horse 7790H (and A-C, and then Deutz-Allis, 920H) in '84 and '85 or so.
"Of course" Kent has the info on-site, see the links (if I get them right!).
Be advised that parts for the Lombardini Diesel are not as easy to get as for the gas engines.
Jeff Nemes even has one (without engine) for sale in the classifieds.

Ooops. I just purchased an AC 920 (diesel). Now, exactly how hard is it to find Lombardini parts? I have had filters on order for three weeks, and I have been told the motor mounts aren't made anymore. I have the same sick feeling I had when I purchased a 1965 Rambler (low miles, good shape). Unbeknowns to me it had the old 195 cid (last production year of this engine) and boy I had a hell of time trying to find engine parts, and to spare you needless narrative and painful angst, I won't even bring up the fun I had getting ball joints. (ps: I wouldn't laugh about Ramblers, the were a hell of a well made car, and ran forever "if you could find the parts").

Well, if history truly repeats itself, I have just stumbled into a situation tragically familiar, and just as irratating. If you can't tell, I am looking for that optomistic voice out there saying "don't worry, you'll find the parts". It does however need to be loud enough to drown out the voice of my wife saying "remeber the Rambler?, jeez, I told you so".

Hey guys I have seen those Italian diesel engines on concrete pumps and generators at several jobs I have been on lately so the parts must be avalable some where.
Check with companies that handle construction equipment.
Good luck hope it helps.

Thanks, I will try some of the construction equipment guys. It reminded me that I had seen the Lombardini 4,000 psi pressure washer units (I only wish I had looked to see if they were running). Thanks for the lead.

I have an AC 920 with a Lombardini diesel in it.
I've had it for about a year and have put on a front
fuel line, (I broke it), and several air shrouds.
I've also replace the oil, fuel and air filters. I
haven't had any trouble finding parts except the
muffler, (thought a new one might be nice). The fuel
line came within a couple of weeks, the filters
probably the same or sooner. The air shrouds took
about two or three months because I think they had
to come from Italy. The engine is great, has a great
design and seems very durable. You might want to
check with the Lombardini web site to find a dealer
near you. (http://www.lombardiniusa.com/) I ordered
the fuel line from a distributor
in Cleveland OH, the air shrouds from a company in
Port Washington WI and everything else from the AGCO Allis
dealer. The prices all seem the same. You can stil
get the manuals direct from the Simplicity dealer.

Unrelated to the engine, I've also put on a new depth
adjuster, have hydrostatic fluid and filter, replaced
the fuel tank cap/gauge, etc.

How much did you pay for yours? If my wife lets me buy
a plane I might sell it. I'd hate to as my grandfather
has a couple of 700 series tractors that have lasted
over 20 years doing hard labor, (tilling, mowing and
snow plowing). This baby seems like it last probably twice
that. Our yard is smaller than an in ground pool
so I have to go to friends house to play with it. Anyway,
please let me know.

Thank you.[A href='http://www.lombardiniusa.com/']http://www.lombardiniusa.com/[/a]

Left you a message at your later correspondence. I would suggest if you buy a plane, buy one as strong as these AC's. I would buy this one from you to start a collection, however, that would be worse than an affair in my wife's eyes. Affairs take less time and they are cheaper.

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
