Consider this a hello and thank-you from a new member.

I asked some questions about a week ago about an old 3410. I've decided to go ahead and buy it. I'm paying a bit more than I should, but when I'm done I should have a solid machine for WAY under the cost of even a "cheap" new tractor.

Factors that helped in this decision:

1) TREMENDOUS support and feedback from this forum. I have the feeling I can get almost any question answered, quickly.

2) I'm very impressed with the solid design of the old beast.

3) I'm 5 miles down the road from Jack's Small Engines. (Embarassingly, I didn't realize his was the site I had already visited through this forum.) I look forward to working further with his fine company.

4) At this point, I've pretty well figured out what I want to do to the old beast, and I don't want to give up the fun of making it work again.

So thanks again for the help, and forgive me if I ask too many dumb questions in the meantime!

Hi Brian and thanks for becoming a member of our family. Please don't concider any question to be of a dumb nature. As it is the person that does not ask a question that is a to be concidered dumb in the sence and meaning of the word. How else can you and all of us learn if not only you but all of us ask "QUESTIONS"? Ask all the questions your heart desires and we all will try our best to answer them for you and return you I know you will be able to do the same for us at sometime. Thanks again for becomeing apart of our family and enjoy you new found tractor. And yes Jack's small engines is like you said a very fine bussiness indeed and we also have other members that have their own bussiness's that help us also. Its just your luck to have one so close to you as some members have to drive many miles to get good service. Thanks again Brian->jackl<->happyjack<-
