Hey that will help alot. thanks. But my the engine on my broadmoor dosn't have a code #. just a serial #. would it bee the same? Mine is 47833 From what I can tell the tractor is a 64-66 could the motor be a 47? Elon

I dont think so Elon. Maybe they are no longer readable but your engine should have more numbers than that somewhere.

I dont know on the verticals, but on the horizontals they started using the above coding somewhere around 65 0r 66. Thus the early Landlords had the model 23D 9 hp engines while the later 10 hp Landlords had model 243431.

I would think the vertical engines changed around that same time??

Where exactly was that number located on the engine??

On the back of the engine shorud, is a plate with the folowing

model 142701 type 9123 01 serial 47833 I have registard this engine on the briggs site but it didnt help eather. Kirk gave me a web site, but no luck there eather. Its not a big deal but I would like to know what year the tractor is. It could be several years. I was hoping to use the engine to figure it out. Elon

Elon, my best guess would be that a 6 was either rubbed off or never got stamped in front of your number so that it should be 647833 making it a 64, but thats only a guess.
