Unofficial Home of Old Simplicity & Allis-Chalmers Garden Tractors

AC 410

I bought an old Cub Cadet that was sitting in a crowded garage last week. The garage was so crowded I couldn't actually get to the tractor, but it appeared to be in good shape. The man delivered it Saturday and after a closer look I found that it is an AC 410S. I am going to need parts...where do I find them? Also it hasn't been cranked in two years. It turns over fine, but is getting no spark at the plug. Any ideas? Thanks

I'd say pull a file through the points first off. Had the same deal on a 14hp briggs this spring and it now runs great. MPH

AC 300 and 400 series parts are harder to find than about any other, because they were made by Allis-Chalmers in their Lexington SC plant, and share only a few parts with Simplicity tractors of the same period. Engine parts should be readily available, just about anywhere. For other parts, though, new parts will be a challenge. I'd suggest you start here, with the sponsors and other club members....
