Allis Chalmers push mower, HELP!!

We have two push mowers, one AC, one Simplicity. Does yours have the plastic cover? We think ours were made in the early seventies. Ours run, and we use them on our grass and the neighbors. (I personaly want a Lawn-Boy again, ssshhh don't tell anyone) That is about all that I know. Mary

I just purchased a BIG-10 mower. While loading owner said he had an Allis Chalmers push mower he would throw in if I wanted it. o yeah. It is orange in color, has big wheels on rear, has clutch to engage belt to drive blade. It also has 4hp B&S engine. What years were they made? Were they popular? Any info on it would be helpful. It is a 21" cut. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

The aluminum body ones with a plastic flip cover were a pretty nice design. Sorry the metal ones were farmed out and not made by Simplicity. This is assuming both AC and Simp were using the same models at the time. Perhaps Les will investigate the 19"-22" history!
