Sorry, I cant find your earlier post. My 917 leaks, but only when the hydro is hot. Looks like it is leaking out of the right side of the trans. Any ideas about the cause?

Glad I could help. As for the 917 that has the Sundstrand hydro and the whole transaxle is filled with hydraulic fluid. I don't believe you can overfill them. The only thing that can leak on the right side is the brake shaft, that would probably require a new seal. How about the hose connection under the transaxle? Could it be leaking there? How much fluid are you losing? I have noticed that even when the check valve nipples leak the fluid tends to run down the right side. Good Luck! Mike S.
