Hi Ed
Some parts are available for the engine.The engine
should be a Briggs&Stratton.I can tell you when the
Briggs&Stratton engine was made.If you can find the model&serial number from the engine I will let you
when the was made.I have a sickle bar mower that is broken.I was told no parts are available.I have several Simplicity two garden tractors,model VA,D,W,A,FA

I have a 2 hp Model L walk-behind with a sickle bar mower. Are any part available for either the motor or sickle bar; attachment, like the sickle bar. Thanks for any input.

ED- are you sure you dont have a gravely walk behind? They made a model L for many years.

if you are looking for points I have changed to solid state same as the new ones and they start much better. If your blade is just dull you can sharpen them special grinding wheel . Talk to loca farml implement dealers they should be able to help you out . Or you can always repace the knives with new 1's just grind off the rivets and put new in and rivet them tight .
