Broadmoor 727 throttle/choke and ignition question

Since the spark is produced by the mag the only thing the battery does is spin the starter, low bat.,slow spinning. When you have the engine running, move your choke lever back and forth, when the engine is flooding, ie.. black smokein, thats the on position..MPH

I recently bought a broadmoor 727 (which is in pretty good condition) but the printing on the choke throttle has worn off. Does anyone know what the settings are in relation to lever placement. Second : the battery seems a bit low (ie sluggish starts) i jumped it (with great apprehension) from an ATV and it started immediately and ran quite well. Does the ignition system depend on a fully charged battery for optimal spark? (like vw beetles do sorta) any info is greatly appreciated!

Look at the choke lever on the carb. The lever will be clockwise when it is fully choked. I think the lever on the operator panel will be down
