Simplicity Gray

My 4041 was also gray before I repainted the hood. If you look closely (go to Club Picnic #1), you can see that the hood is whiter than the wheels or control column, which I didn't repaint. Paul

Yes, the Sovereign and PowerMax were grey I believe in 1972 and maybe 1973, the Landlords and Barons were cream (off white). Mike S.

Did Simplicity ever use Gray paint instead of Cream..? I saw a Gray & Orange Powermax once that I thought had been repainted. The photo below is a Simplicity currently on eBay that looks Gray. The 1972 brochure in SimpletrACtors looks like it might be Gray. http://members.aol.com/dditmty/sim3.jpg

A friend of mine who was a dealer at the time said that they switched to a real light gray for a very short time. According to him it was not well recieved so they switched back to the white shade. At least thats the information I have heard. I don't know for exactly how long this gray was applied, but the early 3400 series is all I have personally seen it on. SmilinSam

I examined the Powermax and thought it was original factory paint, and thought it was gray. Glad I'm not loosing my judgment or senses. I must be different. I kinda' like the gray.

Hey Dutch, what photo hosting site do you use now? After photopoint wants money, I gave up on them, you know of any other free ones? Thanks,-BradW

There is nothing wrong with photopoint. Its a good service that is cheap as far as I'm concerned. The "free" part is a grace period to see if it suits ones needs, a nice courtesy- not something to be taken advantage of.

I deleted all files from photo point after my sale on Ebay, you have to upgrade to link photos which is what I want, but other than photo point I cannot think of a picture hosting websiite, I think there was a post on this a while back, but I cannot find it.-BradW

Brad, I use my ISP (AT&T) for uploading my photos. It's included in my monthly fee. The photo above is not mine. It is stored on the eBay seller's AOL space. There use to be quite a few "free" photo hosting sites. I don't know how many are left.
