As I recall there isn't that much to those hitches and could relatively easily be fabricated if a kind club member would post the dimensions. Sold my thrower w/ hitch earlier this year or I would do it. Just need some 1/4" flat stock, a pulley, a hacksaw or sawzaw and a welder. Many people have asked for this very hitch lately. Be a good item for the DIY section. Brent

Some Simplicity parts are no longer available. Either you find a used one or fabricate. I believe the 7100 series hitch (or at least the component parts) may still be available brand new for under $100. For that amount, I wouldn't bother making one for my own use.

I need a front hitch (snowblower) off of a 7100 series. I was also told the new ones would work, is this right? If anyone has a source for used ones please let me know.

I think your dealer is right. The hitch should fit all Sovereigns 1979-until they stopped making them (2000?).

I called the dealer, $275 for a new hitch.

I just looked it up on Jack's (one of our sponsors). Hitch #1666785 $69.40 - Pulley #171247 $18.05 Except for a few nuts, bolts & clips that's the hitch for a 7100 series. Wow! Thanks Herb. That is a significant difference, I have a feeling the dealer was trying to sell me a hitch that works on the newer sovereigns as well, he SAID they are the same. I don't think I will trust them in the future. I think I would like to buy that ebay auction for them that bcbaumer has recently listed (#5111).
