wheel weights

I made wheel weights for my 6216 with 23x10.50x12 rear tires. They came out at 60 pounds each. Is this too much weight for my rear axles? They will only be used during the winter months. Thanks.

Hi Tim, Just do the usual check for any play in the keyways and rear axle hubs just to be safe at the axle tube. I had 55lb weights on 2 of my tractors for years with no side affect what ever. I now found a pair of 70lb. weights that will be going on one of my tractors. So like the other member so mentioned the tractor really will not know they are there but you will noitce somewhat of a decline in forward momentem as it takes more power to get and keep the rear wheels going with the added weight. Best of Luck' >>->happyjack<-<<
