4211 Transaxle ?????

I have a 4211 and theres something wrong in the trans axle (5speed) i haven't torn it down yet to see what? I understand there is a problem with these . has anyone fixed one? if so are the expensive to fix and do they last after repair? or should i use it til it breaks and get another one?
