T12 Looking a Little Shabby

Mowed for the last time the other day with the original Homelite T-12 setup:

Then I mounted the "NOS" deck:

The new deck makes the T-12 look it's age (I think it turns 40 this year). Adjusted the deck today, so it's now ready for it's first use:

Think the T-12 will go another 40 years with the new deck?

Me thinks that a little degreasing, washing, and waxing would make that tractor look darned near as good as that deck does. Its a very nice clean original looking Homelite and an Allis built one non the less. I too would like one of these eventually and that NOS deck is just sweet :o.

If it was me, I would be taking the deck into a good paint shop and get it color matched before you get it dirty. That way when you get tired of looking at the tired blue on the tractor you will have the right match for repainting :D

Bill,

I like the looks! The rod style guard/support looks interesting (less likely to clog the discharge). Is that your modification, or is that the stock provisioning?

Happy New Year

Wayne,The rock guard is stock. I like that style because it attaches to both the front and back of the deck and the leading edge of the deck doesn't bend as easily if (when?) you hit something. That's also why I prefer the alternate round stock rock guard for the Sovereign decks (vs the square tube style that just hangs on the leading edge of the deck):

I second the idea of getting the paint color matched by a automotive paint shop and then post the codes on here so others can get the correct color if wanted!
