I have a 314H allis garden tractor with 48 in mower deck, snow plow, and rear cultivator. I would like to sell it but do not know what it is worth. My local simplicity dealer says it is worth 5,000.00. I dont think that is right. It is an older tractor but it is in excelent condition with 700 hrs.Could anyone tell me if that is right or what it is worth?

Did your dealer say, "Five" or "Five-Thousand"? Maybe he was thinking hundred and you were thinking thousand. If you want to sell, and your dealer wants to give you $5,000.00, and you are satisfied with that amount, it's a good deal for both of you.

If your dealer will give you $5,000 for it,you better take money and run!

Ask him if HE would give you $5000 for it. If they are worth that much I'd sure better start buying them, because they don't generally bring more than $500-$700 around here. I gave $200 for my 312D without a deck and it runs great. Paid $250 for a 416H with deck and blade that smoked some a year ago. Have watched 2 300 series lately at auction bring $175 and $165 needing some work but complete. Answering a "Whats it worth?" question is ambiguous at best because of all the variables at play. So all one can generally do is to say what they have seen sell for what $$$ lately. Hope that helps some, SmilinSam

People that have AC's don't smoke,,they chew! 314's must have been the deluxe model as I never heard of a 316H?I have a 314H it's got the ciggy lighter all of what's left of it that is,, I'd sell mine,,motor is tired,,

I paid $175.00 for my 312-D last summer. It is complete but needs engine overhaul & paint job. Actually bought it with parts in mind for my 314-D. Anyone know what the "H" designation on Stephen's trac stands for? Dick

H means Hydro drive, D = Deluxe, S= Shuttle, V= Vari-speed. I don't know what was differrent on the Deluxe models. Jordan

The Deluxe had a cigarette lighter and perhaps headlights -- I can't remember for sure where I read that....

$5,000 is about $4,200 - $4,500 too much. The 314H (H standing for HYDROSTATIC) was the top of the line for the 300 series in '71 and '72. My neighbor has a beautiful 314H w/ mower/vacuum and snow blower that he bought in '77 for $1,500. Although this gentleman has maintained his tractor impeccably, it has the infamous Vickers hydrostatic transmission, which leaks like a seive. The parts for these trannies are no longer available, vastly reducing the value of these tractors. If you can sleep at night knowing that someone gave you FIVE GRAND for your tractor, go for it!! In addition, I believe that the major differences between the 310D and the regular 310 are the electric lift and the electric front pto. I have both tractors and would take the regular one anyday!! Also, I believe that the large plate on the dash is for an optional hour meter. Colin

It appears mine has a place where cig. lighter WAS. Also has that not-to-hot electric lift but i'm going hydraulic with mine before next mowing season. Yet another question, did the h models have electric lift or hyd.? BTW both mine are vari-drive and have headlights. Dick

According to the specs section, listed below, they had electric lift...[A href='http://www.simpletractors.com/models/300_series/specifications.htm']http://www.simpletractors.com/models/300_series/specifications.htm[/a]

I see, must be "electric" was the watchword for that model line. Mine has elec. pto also. Dick

I had A 310 deluxe. All it had different was the electric lift.

I had a 310V, manual lift and manual clutch. My 312 D has the electric clutch and the power lift with a variable speed tranny. No cigarette lighter on this one. Incidentally, what optional equipment is supposed to go in the dash where that big circular blanking plate is?? SmilinSam

Duh! Teach me to look more carefully... Here's a copy of the 314D Specs: >> 314D -- 14hp deluxe tractor with Vari-Shift Transmission, electric lift, and electric PTO Here's the deluxe edition of the brawniest of lawn and garden tractors. Equipped with deluxe seats, lights, and a lighter, the 314-D does your work in style. Like all Allis-Chalmers Series 300 tractors, it features a balanced Kohler engine. << Yet, the 312-D mentions a deluxe seat, but no mention of the cigarette lighter -- same with the 310-D. >> 312D -- 12hp deluxe tractor with Vari-Shift Transmission, electric lift, and electric PTO Like its 300 series brothers, the 312-D has multiple PTO to drive front, center and rear mounted implements. Implements hook on in minutes to give you maximum versatility -- fast! Comes with deluxe seat. << ---- >> 310D -- 10hp deluxe tractor with Vari-Shift Transmission, electric lift, and electric PTO Pampers you and your lawn. Comfortable high back seat makes yard work less of a chore. High flotation tires tread lightly and gently over your lawn. The Vari-Shift transmission combines fingertip handling ease with the muscle of a manual. << Does that mean that the 314-D is the only one that came with a lighter?
