AC 620 info please

The 620 was only made one year - 1973. The first of the line was the 616 made in '72. In 1974 AC came out with the 720 (cosmetics only) and it was made until 1981. The month and year of manufacture of your engine is on the engine plate and is part of the sn. You will note something like 0873 blah, blah. This means the engine was built in August of 1973. Steve

I just purchased a very nice ALlis Chalmers 620. I can't locate a manufacture number. All I have located are serial numbers on the tractor and 5' mower deck. How do I find out the year the tractor was produced? Does anyone out there have manuals on the deck and tractor. I need to know how to adjust the brakes, deck height, etc. Parts resouces are also welcome.

Greg: All the manuals are available from simplicity publication dept. there is an operators manual, parts manual, repair manual, attachment manual you can get the # from the link area of this site. The mower deck height is set with the "T" handles located on the outside edge of the mower deck. The brakes are set by adjustable rods under the cover in front of the seat, the problem I have found with the brakes is they usually have oil on them from leaking seals therefore do not work that well.Good luck BEB
