Lawn vacuum

You don't have to go to Deere. Simplicity offers a clear tube that fits between the deck adapter and blower elbow. Or, clear flx-thane ducting is available from iHozs (see link).[A href='http://www.ihozs.com/appl.cfm?selcode=GK']http://www.ihozs.com/appl.cfm?selcode=GK[/a]

Thanks for all the help with my lawn vac. I used it yesterday and it works well. Got a lot of looks. I could only mow in 1st gear and had to duct tape around the endgate. The exhaust hose came out once and covered me with debre. The lawn looks great, looks like freshly swept shag carpet. I hate to say this, John Deere carries the 6 and 7 inch vac hose, and it is clear. Thanks again Ryan

I checked with 2 Simp. dealers in my area, one said he couldn't get anything and the other one wanted $450.00 for both hoses. The JD dealer sold me the hose for $8.50 a ft. The hose was the heavy duty clear. Thanks Ryan

Ryan, Glad you got it figured out and it worked well for you. I certainly got a lot of use out of mine yesterday. I cleaned two lawns (mine and the rectory, next door)... 7 cart loads, and I have the tall, "Conestogo Wagon" looking cover.... I covered my garden about 6" with mulched leaves, and still had to dump three loads in the woods so I can retrieve the rotted "leaf mold" next year for flower beds.... It got dark before I could get them tilled into the garden, so I'm hoping for another nice weekend (that I don't have duty -- two weekends a month, BTW) -- before the ground freezes so I can get it tilled in. I've vowed to replace my old hoses next year, since mine are in sad shape and have a half a roll of duct tape on them. If you figure out an easy way to make a new tailgate, let me know -- I got a new cover but my original tailgate is reinforced with thin plywood and duct tape also... Kent
