b207 wiring

I posted a message earlier in which kent replied to about a wiring problem I am up against.I checked the wire diagram section and it seemed to show everything but the key part of the push start system. I was hoping that someone out there has a b207 or any allis that uses the key switch then push button to start system to help me out. Again when I tore it down for restoration the wire from the key switch pulled off from where it ran to and I have no idea where it connects to and I don't want to play hit or miss and short any thing out.Any help would be appreciated, thanks again. Hello there, You are correct. It does not show the key switch on the push button start B-207 but it does do the same thing as on the B-206 and the non-pushbutton start B-207's. The wire from the key switch goes to the magneto to ground it out when you turn the switch off. This "kills" the engine. When you turn the switch on, it actually "disconnects" that wire from ground. Have fun and good luck! Clayton

There is a bracket on side of the engine (if it is the orignal 7hp, where your throttle cable attaches. At the bottom of this bracket is a terminal with a 3/8 or 7/16 nut on it and a wire from it, running up under the flywheel to the magneto. Hook your wire to this same terminal. It shorts out the ignition to stop engine as Clayton stated.
