Thanks, Mark. Do I understand that you have a 5-3/4" pulley on the left side of the vac, running on this 60" belt? If so, what size is on the other end of that same jackshaft? Mine has the same size pulley on both ends of the shaft, with a smaller (used to be 4") pulley on the actual impeller shaft....

So you are "underdriving" from 3" to 4-3/4" (the two jackshaft pulleys are a "wash")... By my calculations, at 3600 engine RPM, your vac impeller would be turning 2274 RPM... nowhere near the 3600 max. How well does it work? Hmmm.....

Have I got it all wrong? After thinking more about the "overdrive" discussion below, I realized that my RPM drop on my vac is coming from using the tiller drive (rear PTO) in the setup. If I didn't use that, and used only one long belt, I'd have a direct drive to the engine speed -- 3" pulley on the bevel gear box and 3" pulley on the impeller. When you hooked up a vac to the right side, it was the same way... Is anyone hooking up their vac on the left side directly to the bevel gear box pulley? If so, how long is the belt required? Any problems with this setup?
