I made me a rear weight carrier today. Going to have it sandblasted and zinc plated (metalized) Wednesday. Turned out pretty good. I found two 25# Kubota weights cheap on Craigslist. I am going to by four more. They are $33 each new. That will give me a total of six and 150# plus the weight of the bracket. These weights will work great in my front weight brackt that I made as well.

I like the 25# Kubota weights because they are easy to move around. Should work out great. Alot cheaper than the Simplicity 50# weights and their rear weight carrier is no longer available again.

Got my parts back from the sandblaster with the zinc metalizing process applied today. Just have to wait until spring for nicer weather to paint. Not really necessary to paint but black looks better.

More great results! Ray, does the zinc metalizing process fill the threads at all, on the plow jackscrew? Curious if it would need to be wire wheeled away a bit to allow smooth adjustment, as paint would, or if it is not like a coating at all. I wouldn't mind looking that over in person before paint, if I'm ever able.

Josh, It is a tight fit on the threads. I more than likely will have to chase the threads with a die or wire wheel a little. I thought that I would before I had them do it. I was mainly trying to get the handle coated.

It is ok for anything that doesn`t have threads. My handle was very rusty and I didn`t want to spend the $40 plus dollars I was quoted to replace it. Could have had it plated like bolts are at another place but they wanted more than Brinly for a new one. A 5/8-11 die will remove what is needed and I should be set.

There had to be two guys in that first Vid. Noone can do that much hand pumping on a spray bottle. By 4:30, MY hand hurt.

Looks pretty slick...wonder how it holds up? We could have a club gathering/chroming party at Ray's place ;)

I did check to see if the nuts threaded onto the plow parts and they did without issue.

thanks for the info. It's not too far away from my dad's place to get something done if needed.

It is pure zinc. This is sprayed on. Gleaner combines and highway guard rails are dipped. The place below did mine. http://www.goabcservices.com/index_files/processes.htm

That is an awesome process...endless possibilities. It actually Looks good as is...I know it don't match tractor colors but it looks cool. Does that have to be painted or will it last on its own?
