I don't live there but I travel within about 2 hours of Norfolk on business frequently (last week and this coming week). Nice area if you like flat and sand. Me I prefer real soil and the rolling hills of Lancaster Co. PA

I live south of Washington DC which is about 3 hours from Norfolk Va. I used to go through Norfolk in the early 1980's when I was in the Coast Guard stationed down on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. John P.S. I guess thats closer than Alaska ;0)

I lived there for 15 years before moving back to the family farm in Williamsburg, which is just an hour away. Then I commuted from Wmbg to Norfolk for five years. Just like knocking your head against a wall, it felt real good to stop. But my wife still misses Norfolk, and I'm back there a lot.
