Distance record?

I'm sure I hold the record for distance travelled for tractor-related business. Yesterday I drove 8 hours (1-way) to pick up a Landlord 101 that I just had to have. Last year, I drove 10 hours for a 7790, only to decide it wasn't what I wanted and went back home. What's wrong with me???

You just got the fever, only thing you can do for it is buy more tractors..then again, guess you could start a TA based on AA..MPH

I just had a gentleman and his wife come from North Dakota to Wisconsin to pick up a 101, Must be something about 101's. I believe it took him about 11 hours.

Well let me whip out mine: My brother and I traveled for three and a half days from New Hampshire to Georgia to pick up my 720 and Loader. The total trip was just short of 2500 miles and we were out three nights. We made really good time coming back as we were "bookin" to stay ahead of an approaching ice storm. So my distance to enter is 2450 miles. RE: What's wrong with us? Huh ... I don't understand the question???? Steve

My inaugural run for my first tractor was at the end of June this year and took about 8 1/2 hours one way. From Middletown NY to Vermilion Oh, stopped just long enough to check out the tractor load it and turn around and drive back SOLO (one emergency stop at Lowe's for extra straps). Needless to say being "city bred" so to speak my friends thought I TOTALLY lost it. Any way i'm enjoying my tractor as i just added additional hydraulics for for my plow. My distance is 950 miles! Myself, I drove twenty minutes to the airport, boarded a plane, flew 24 hours and landed in a foreign country. I went to the farm, saw the tractor and took it for a spin. I tested the hydraulic loader and backhoe, tried the pto, engaged the mower and decided that I still wanted it. Next I paid the man, rented a truck, brought the tractor to the airport ( of course after removing all the fuel and tank ), watched it get loaded on the plane and flew home. Once back in the USA I watched the tractor get unloaded, loaded it in my truck and drove home, unloaded it, installed fuel tank, added gas and started it up. once started I drove it around my property and then drove it into the barn, of course after playing with the loader and backhoe. Well, I hope you all enjoyed my story, It is amazing how far we will travel for what is important to us. Al

Gentlemen, Distance traveled is part of the "desire" you have for a hobby. I'm sure you enjoyed every minute of your adventures and regretted not a moment. One of the real rewards in life awaits you on the other end of your trip when you meet a new friend for life, even though your paths may cross only once. God Bless the American way of life..

I can not top Al's trip but the last 2 summers I drove from Vancouver, WA to Towanda, PA (about 3000 miles each way) to pick up attachments for my 616 and 720. Many side trips and tractor shows on the trip as well. I like driving my rig, hauling AC tractors and the beautiful scenery in PA which makes the trips fun. We need more shows as they are one of the things that stimulate people to "get it done" and then enjoy the fellowship. Del

I really hate driving so my maximum trip thus far is 500 miles round trip. The record holders for picking up stuff from me belong to residents of New York state. One drove from Long Island New York to get a Bolens. The other came from Rochester to get a Bachtold weed mower. Both paid what I consider good money too.
