12hp rebuild question

Recommended Posts

Well I will try to explain the problem I am having. This is my first tear down of any engine so I'm a bit stumped. I am in the process of tearing down the 12hp synchro out of my b212 to have it bored out to the size 14hp piston and valve work to send to a shop.

What is the trick to pull the cam shaft out. In the manual it says to tap it out but the inside gear hits the lobe before I can get it all the way out. The re builder says I need to get it out so he can knurl the quids or whatever for the new valves.

What am I doing wrong.

And this will be on of many questions as I attempt to put this back together.

On outside of block look where the cam shaft is it there you will see a pin you have to use a punch and the pin will come out other side of the block. I think it will only come out 1 way if you tap it you will know

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
