Garden Tractor Loader Questions

I was planning on building a small cadplans loader model 507 to put on my 7117. Just wondering if anyone out there has done this before. This particular model uses a single arm and only two rams to lift and tip the bucket. The representative at cadplans said the hydraulics hook into the tractor hydraulics as it needs only 1 gallon per minute. I need to know if this is correct or if I'll have to ad an auxillary pump. I really don't plan on doing any real heavy work with the tractor, just moving small piles of dirt around the yard.

My suggestion would be that if that is so, I would just make sure that you have enought resevoir capacity for the extra fluid the cylinders and lines hold so you have no over flow and fluid is cooled properly..

Thanks for the info, greatly appreciated.

I for one would not add any more to the tractor hydraulics. I had a Massey 2818 with power steering, hydro drive and hydro lift and it taxed the system pretty good. I would think adding a loader to the system would be a bit much despite what the rep says. My opinion.

You might be better off buying a "Johnny Bucket" other clubmembers seem to have had good experience with these and if your only doing light work, these are easy on easy off and no hydraulic taping even though I imagine you could easily buy retrofit a hyrdo lift for it, good luck,-BradW

Adding to the tractor hydraulics does not work well when doing a loader. Its a lot of steel to pick up and it would probably work ..but very , very slow. I looked at cad plans but then decided to build one right from scratch. Its in the diy section. Put it on my Sun Star. I have a seperate pump for loader, definately the way to go. If you have any ??'s feel free to e-mail me..setj@juno.com
