Hey guys. quick question. What material are the flex plates made out of for the large frame driveshafts? I need to make a larger one to work with my Onan in my puller project. And by the way, saturday I should have more pictures. Its starting to come together fairly well. Engine will be mounted saturday!!!

Do like I did on an engine that did not have the correct pattern. I made a plate from a sheet of thin metal that would bolt to the engine, then I bolted that to the flexplate with a few washers in between the two.

The flexplates are fiberglass, but if it is not layed up correctly with the correct cloth and resin, it will not hold up to the stress of being hooked between an engine and driveshaft. I would make every effort to use the stock flexplates. I pulled for over 20 years and never had any problems with a flexplate.
