Engine paint

Does the shrouding that surrounds a B&S 16 hp engine need to be painted with a "HI HEAT" paint or will a regular enamel be ok? As always, thanks for your response.

Tim B&S at one time sold their engine paint in spray cans. I do not know if it is still available. It did a good job and seems to be holding up quite well. Ben

Never had a problem with regular enamel on B&S shrouds. Pulled all afternoon in the mid 90's last summer with no problems.

Briggs and Stratton does still sell their own paint. I tend to think regular enamel will hold up on the shroud. The Briggs and Stratton paint is laquer in 13 ounce spray cans. the following is the colors and part numbers: 271400 - Gloss Back 271401 - Pearl White 271402 - Ice White 271403 - Satin Black 271404 - Industrial Gray 271405 - Pewter Mist 271675 - American Red I hope this helps you. I bought some of their paint and it was around $5.00 a can. Good luck, Al
