Need guidance on "What Fits?"

We own a 1984/85 Allis 616H lawn tractor. Its mfr. number is 1690954 or 1690956. It currently has a 42" mower deck. It is equivalent to a Simplicity 5216H. I have located what I believe to be a used 48" Simplicity deck. The number on it appears to be 1690709. It's listed on this website as 1981-84 vintage. Can anyone give me insight into how to x-ref this deck with this lawn tractor, either here or offline, to tell if this deck will work on my tractor? I'm not having much success. Many thanks! Tom, I think the problem is the mower deck is newer than the 1981 "What Fits" information on thie site... Kent

Hello Tom, Do you have a MFG # off the 42" deck on the tractor now ? My 1981 6216 has a 1690708 42" deck, and the 09 is listed as the correct 48" for mine. If you have not taken your deck off in a while, probably could use a sharpening anyway. The tag should be in front of the center spindle.
