SO I went out and spent some hard earned $$ and had the few "cream" colored parts on the mower powder coated. The rims turned out SO nice, I am going to have to buy new tires. The entire lot ran $175+ tax.

Ther are eleven pieces all together. I took a cap from a can of Rust Oleum Canvas white and they matched it with their chips that they had on hand. The guy masked off the centers of the small rims as well as the grease fittings. He also only coated the ends of the pivot pin where the front axle pivots. Thanks to the folks at Badger Metal Finishing down in Cudahy, Wi. http://badgermetalfinishing.com/In the near future, I hope to post more photos of my progress.

Very nice Tim! Those are ideal pieces for powder coat, too. White painted steel on these tend to get that rust coloration working it's way through, almost like iron staining surfaces that get hit by well water. Price doesn't sound too bad, either (was sandblast in there?).

The WB will look so nice when done! They are unique machines. Mine sat beside my loader restore, at a show this past summer, and garnered triple the interest. Guess that's good and bad ;)

Yeah Josh, sandblast included.

I took them in sandblasted, but they followed up on it for their own quality. The cast center pieces started to flash rust. I sandblasted those a week prior to taking them in.

BTW, service was pretty quick as well. I dropped the parts off on 2/1, and they called me Tuesday afternoon and said they were finished.

Thanks guys,

The manager at Badger asked me when I took them in if I wanted a polished finish.

I declined because I didn't want a finish that looked, "better than stock."

I will more than likely take the rest of the large parts to them for sandblasting, unless I can find a place closer to home say, in the Waukesha area.

I have done quite a few pieces here at home I like the powder coating more than regular paint. No over spray in the garage and looks good longer. I use a old oven for my projects and it works well.I can do the rear rims on most of my tractors in there . Bob
