I finally got my second 900 series running. I thought that the lights were not working, but, they appear to be wired to the generator, only working when the engine is running. This will be kind of a pain when blowing snow as it gives hardly any lights at idle and no lights with the engine off. Can the wiring be changed?

I always wire mine into the accesory cricuit so they will be on when the key is in the on position. Pretty much the same wiring as the 75' 7016 tractors using the starter generator. You have a accesory plug in block that the accesory wire plugs into off the keyswitch. That leave 5 other terminals on the block to use. Usually run the lights off one, power lift off another, front Electric clutch off yet another and so on.

Something to check... On my Sovereign (Koler TH18) I found the wires going to the ammeter where wired backwards (probably from when the dealer had installed a hour meter for me before delivery). With them wired backwards the lights would ONLY work when the engine was running. After switching the wiring based on the schematic in the shop manual, the lights would work with the switch in the "on" position (engine not running) as well as when the engine was running. The two wires going to the ammeter were solid red and red/white(line). One going to the starter switch and one going "to the battery/etc". Unfortunately I'm not at home to check which one goes where.
