Taking a look at a 67 landlord new pics

I finally found a 67 Landlord and will be going to take a look hopefully saturday. The owner says it's all original (except the seat has been replaced) says it sometimes needs a shot of starter fluid when cold but then starts right up.

What should I look for? I've seen a few of zippo's vid's but I have a feeling I will be a little too in the moment to remember so I would like to make up a simple check list to go through.

Adding items as members comment

Check BGB for play

Check rear frame for cracks by BGB

Check gas tank for rust through

Check for axel tube cracks/ damage from dual setup (TaintedMrGreen)

Check for seat pan cracks (TaintedMrGreen)

Check front Pivot for wear (TaintedMrGreen)

Thanks in advance for the help!

I'd check the axle tube for cracks...might have to clean off the grease. Tough to really tell the condition of the machine by those pics. I wouldn't like the extra wide rear or dozer. I'd be looking at the front axle pivot as well.

i would stay away from it unless the price is right . the outter duals should have less air to prevent stress on axle. look that tractor over good. what is he asking for it ?.

As of now he is asking $500 for the tractor and mower deck without the duals. Not sure about the plow.

Price is tough since in NJ there are very very few 60's simplicity's. In the land of Simplicity it seams one can somehow find what they are looking for $100. in NJ barely running 4200 series go for $200+

I'm not sure if i would jump on that. That is very high. I would offer around $250.00 Again, check for cracks, and rust in the gas tank, or anywhere else that seems questionable.

If it all checks out ok with no running issues I don't think $500 is out of line. I don't care for that type of dual set-up nor the widened front plow but that's just my opinion. Note that the inside ags are running backward. Hopefully that's not an indication of knowledge.

I would laugh at an offer of $250 if it were mine, but again that's just an opinion. Think about it, a good engine should bring $150 +/- some. A good deck should be around another $150 or so. New ags are about $100 ea not that I would want ags to mow my lawn. Price out a good fuel tank lately?? Those are getting $50 easily. I'd say I'm pretty much up to the asking price without taking the rest of the tractor into consideration.

Again just my opinion, not gospel but based on my experience.

Gotta consider that lack of supply you mention too...tough for me to see spending $500 on an option-less LL, but there are folks here who well know that I've spent more on machines that just aren't falling off of trees in my neck of the woods. If it's a hard find where you are, and the machine checks out, consider yourself lucky to give it a good home ;)

Another thing I haven't seen mentioned is this is a 12hp Landlord (2012.) This will give you more power than the standard 10hp model and that engine can be rebuilt as a 16. This tractor DOES NOT have high-low. All of these models came from the factory with the hi-lo sticker on the fender, regardless of whether they were equipped with the lift.

Sorry to hear you missed out on this tractor. There will be more to choose from in the future. Best of luck and enjoy the hunt...IMO IT'S the best part!

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
