axle tubes

Have really enjoyed this website since joining in December. I have a Ac 416H with mower and blower, a 310 with mower and blade and tiller, a 312H and a 314H that will run but not move.

I read the tech tips on difs and axle removal and dove in to see if I could find why the tractor will not move. I was hoping for an easy fix but the axle tube is broke off at the inside groove for the keeper ring.

Is there any body out there have a spare axle tube? Is this a complicated fix or should a guy just find a new transmission and be done with it?

Any Suggestions?

Dave

Some guys change them but they are expensive.

It's generally cheaper and easier to change out the entire rear, BUT, then you are putting in another 40 year old tube....

I think you cross to P/N 1670864SM

which then crosses to about $150+ new...

If you decide to go new... you may want to read this first:

http://simpletractors.com/Club2/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=110645

when I did mine I went new... and maybe that was about

~$28 ago... but again... 40 years newer...

I think the hydros are prone to the operator changing from

fwd to rev too quickly in too rough terrain and it is just

wears these tubes out at the grooves

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
