For the snow starved--woodpile added--

A hungry young man in town here is selling wood for 100/cord, in 10 cord lots, I told him to bring it on. So today I had to go make a place to drop it as he pulls a 16 foot trailer which would be hard to get to my wood lot with behind the house. Area hadn't been blown all winter so the 16hp had a workout. Took a few pics for those of you tring to remember the "fun" of it.

These action shots are cold on the hands at zero. There is a drift cutting bar under there somewhere though.

Tired as I am of this old style funnel shaped blower it sure beats a shovel^Miss judged the room needed, wound up with one LARGE pick-up load behind the house. Main part of this pile is about 30 feet long, as deep as I blew in, they threw some beyond into the snow. I'd say the 30 foot length would average 5 foot tall if stacked even, 8 foot plus long so should make about 1200cubic foot= just over 9 cord. The load off the ford 350 was 4 foot high and mostly 10 foot long so think I got the 10 cords I paid for.

Love the pics. And sure don't remember last time we have had that much snow. In the last 2 years I have used my blower once and the blade maybe 2 times so keep the pics coming. That way I know how these attachments work when I get to put mine back to good use.

Thanks for the pics! Has it been a bitterly cold this season? Seems like last year you really hit some hard-to-imagine cold spells!

Stan, on the 42 inch, all of them I think, and newer 36 inch, of which I've only seen pictures on here of, the auger is the same width as the entire machine. On these old ones if I remember right the auger is only 28 inches wide and the sides are flared out to gain the width. When trying to cut into drifted or deep snow berms it causes the blower to suck the front end over into too much of the deep snow. Then I gotta back out and wind up with a saw tooth looking snow bank.

Marty, 100 a cord for "FULL CORD" ???

I was expecting FACE cord :o:O:O 4' x 8' x 16 inches

Around here its 75 to 100 per face cord.

I'd say you did REAL good :D:D:D
