How to bled 3416H hydrostatic transmission

Recommended Posts

bissen83

Hi again.

After replacing all the o-rings and seals i finnaly got the vickers hydro on my 3416H back together. Now my problem is that it wont go anywere. When i put it back together i fill up the motor, pump and hoses with oil. I tried what says in the manual.

Once the pump has been reassembled and completely

installed in the tractor, the system must be bled of air

before the tractor can be returned to service. To

accomplish this, fill the reservoir with clean hydrostatic

fluid. Disengage the transmission lever at the rear of the

tractor. Remove the spark plug from the engine. Using

only the electric starter, turn the engine over, moving the

hydrostatic control lever from full forward to full reverse.

Add fluid as necessary to retain a proper reservoir level

(proper level is to the plastic plug). Once the unit no

longer needs fluid and no air bubbles can be seen

coming up in the reservoir, the reservoir can be capped,

the spark plug reinstalled and the tractor will be ready for

service. Readjust neutral and test run as needed.

But it dont seems to help. Do anyone have a idea what to do??

any help would be nice

thanks Thomas

Before i took the hydro apart, i had some problems, the first minute or so it wont go anywere, the tractor wont move at all, but after some time pulling the hydro lever back and forth it start to move. Thats why i took the hydro apart and clean it out. But the only thing i did´nt took apart was the transfer block. But is it possible that the guy who had it before my maybee installed it wrong? If the charge pump is installed wrong, will the tractor not move at all, or just have very hard to make pressure???

Ok thanks. I will take a look at it as soon as possible. To my big surprise i saw that the 3 shims for the main releaf valve were missing, and there was a lot of flow back to the reservoir, could this might be the problem??

Thanks Thomas
