Choke Cable for AC 416

I would worry more about the width of the outside of the cable...

the cheap replacement cables will not be held well by the clip on the engine. it will slide...

I just learned the OEM is NLA but I think the OD

you want is .187" ... and I seem to remember the cable is somewhat shorter than the 300 series which mounts to the other side of the dashboard....

I agree that a good quality universal cable is the way to go. Pull the inside wire part way out and cut the outside housing to the correct length. Push the wire completely in, making sure your choke is wide open, cut the wire to length and you should be good to go.

I just buy the universal cables and cut to required length. To make the clamp hold to the somewhat smaller universal cable, I use a punch and put 3 or 4 points into the clamp which will grab into the grooves when the clamp is tightened onto the cable.

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
