height of deck-990407 vs 1690252

Recommended Posts

got the 1690252 deck for an extra deck to go on my second landlord but the height of the deck in the front is way to low to ground(2 1/4") vs the 990407(3 1/2"). the tires on the tractor with the deck are 1/2" higher but the 1690252 deck is way to low to ground. I did try on lawn but ant tree roots hit on the arbor. Any ideas how to get it higher? It's hard to tell from the pictures.

There are adjustments on both the front and the rear. Have you tried to change those? Keep in mind the deck needs to needs to be relatively level. I do not remember which but either the front or the back needs to be just a touch higher...

Just take into account, that the leveling is of the blades, not the deck surface! Blade leveling is both front-back and right-left. I believe that the front clevis adjustment is 1/8" per full turn on the threaded shaft (welded to the support bail.

bought the deck and the middle spindle was out of round & the front mounts were split so I had it welded where the cracks were. do those handles in the back of deck control the height in the front of the deck? I tried turning handles but wont turn.

This manual below shows how to adjust the front of the deck. The rear adjusters lower and raise the cutting height. At the front of the deck there is a yoke or turnbuckle on each side of the bail assembly or if you have the two rods that go to the back of deck there is a yoke on each of them. Those yokes adjust the pitch of the blade. http://bsintek.basco.com/BriggsDocumentDisplay/heCyEN8bxM6rE5Cvh5kbp796Dq.pdf

The yokes are attached to the deck hitch that pins the mower deck to the tractor. They have a pin in each side connecting the bail to the deck mounting bracket.

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
