Steering wheel transfer

Does any one have a good solution for sealing a steering wheel? I mowed with the old landlord this weekend, and while everything went fine with just a little adjusting,my Hands were almost completely black from the steering wheel. It seems like the colour is rubbing off everythime I use it.

Anyone else have this problem? Solved it?

Just clean/sand the wheel to remove the oxidized material, then spray it with a clear coat or a color of your choice. Most of the older automotive steering wheels were painted. Paint holds up well on a steering wheel.

I use Almond Rust-o-leum Appliance epoxy, (rattle can)

I sand it good then wipe it down with mineral spirits

and spray away. I give it three or four lite coats.

It hold up as good as the expensive tuff.

I'm with Rod & Willy...I just clean & paint the wheels, knobs, etc with a good quality black gloss spray paint...no issues so far sm01
