X-100 Mower

In another L&G publication this summer, they featured a mower built by Simplicity in the late 1950s called the X-100. It had a plastic bubble over the driver. Has anyone ever seen this mower? I'm sure the unit never went into production but just maybe a couple were made and have survived the chopping block. Del

Never heard of it. Very interesting though. On another subject such as that but, relates to BIG TRUCKS. In the middle 50's as a kid I used to see Car Haulers running down the old "Dixie Highway" Rt 25 through Ohio, previous to I-75 using a cabover that was all glass in the front and you could see the driver totally and the inside of the cab from the front. I have often wondered if any still existed. Think they were expierimental. Your question just hit a nerve from times past.

Speaking of trucks, in the mid 80's I saw a semi tractor that was almost entirely under the front of a gooseneck trailer hauling (of all things) John Deere garden tractors. The truck was getting onto HWY 41 off Hwy 33 here in WI. If I remember correctly, it said GMC on the front, and almost reminded me of a Chev Lumina mini van in the front.
