Clevis Rod Ends?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone point me to a source for clevis rod ends? I need two 3/4"-16 ends. Everyone I have found through web searches cost more than the cylinders they are going on...sm02

FYI, this is for a compact Johnny Bucket like loader I'm designing.

steve-wis - McMaster-Carr want's $29 a piece for them (plain steel) which is one of the better prices, but they're pretty long. (They seem to be a great overall resource though - thanks!)

BLT - I was looking at that, and it looks exactly like the McMaster-Carr offering, but again it's a bit long - I'm trying to reduce the retracted length of my design, including using trunnion-mounted cylinders.

Ray - you've identified my "plan B" candidate, which is to use a heim joint and welding-up a clevis on the attachment vs. having it on the rod.

My other "plan B" is to buy long 3/4-16 nuts and weld either a clevis or a solid rod end (vs. heim) onto each.

I might buy the surplus supply ones just to try it out because I'm already ordering other stuff and it can just piggyback the order.

BTW, I bought two 12" stroke, 2" bore trunnion mount cylinders for $10/each on eBay, so I'm well on the "get it cheap" road.

Thanks all!
