The six-speed transmission setup was fist available on the 1976 Simplicity & 700 series AC (the first year for the headlights inside the grill). BUT, did you know that the six speed setup was also offered on the AC built Homelites 1972-1974..........Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....very interesting. Does anyone know if this was Homelite only? or did the 400 seires AC have this option too? I dont believe so but I am not sure.

I agree, not offered on the AC300/400. Are you sure that this was an option for the "large frame" garden tractor. Mike S.

Mike, I have here in my posession a 3 ring binder containing pretty much the entire Homelite lawn & garden line up for 1972. Owners manuals, parts manuals, parts price lists, spec sheets, setup instructions, etc etc. They call it their "Dual Range Drive". Offered on the Homelite T-10, Its the same blueprint as the six speed which did not appear on Simplicity/AC till late 75' early 76' or thereabout. So its pretty much a sure thing. Don't know ,however if it was offered on the 71's or not. And you can bet I was Smilin when I got this pile of paperwork handed to me. Sam
