A/C hitch mounted sprayer

Took an old, rusted out 16 gallon trailer-type sprayer from Northern Tool, and fabricated a sprayer frame that mounts to the rear tractor frame (similar to the ball-hitch adapter mounting points). No more problems with turning radius, and I can easily reach the sprayer controls while in motion. Used it this weekend to spray DITHIOPYR pre-emergent weed control. This reminds me so much of crop spraying, 40 years ago, with an A/C "One-Sixty" tractor and a 300 gallon sprayer mounted to the 3-point hitch. There is nothing like being raised on a farm!

Mike,

I think a fuel pump would rust up pretty quick if used to spray water-based solutions. The pumps are fairly cheap at Northern Tool. For my 2-nozzle sprayer - it doesnt take a lot of flow rate - only 1.8 GPM on the original Northern Unit.

Made one of these many many years ago very functional, if you use heavy metal straps to hold the tank you can eliminate a lot of weight. Tank I used was metal plastic was just starting to hit the market place. Extension spray arms great idea.

Site programming updates were made 3/23/2024. As a result some things have changed including dues payment options. We will continue maintenance and work with technicians to regain credit card payment option and clear up minor challenges. On positive it appears attaching pictures is now easier. Good day. Gene
