Hi Guys,I was on the cub sight a few days ago and saw a thing called plow days. They get together in spring and fall and plow massive farm fields. I don't know all the details but it looks like a wild time.I bet Kent would know of some big farm fields out in brookfield that could use a plowing.I am not sure if they set it up as a competition or just fun. I could contact them and find out. Let me know what you guys think. I love using my moldboard plow and I'm sure there are other guys out there who feel the same way. Take care Jim V.

Might be reason to take a trip Jim, I got my plow kinda late in the season, had to dig it outta the snow then break it loose from frozen dirt. Needs a good polishing job before spring, a little afraid I might loose my lawn next year.mph

Hey Woody, Out in Suffolk L.I., I'm up to my ears in acorns and the squirrels have been extra buisy. Think Positive, It's going to snow Big Time !! I too am multi brand (What ever I find at the curb I collect) Just got a 4 wheel Gravely with 2 stage and the impeller is about 16" across, I expect it to be quite the snow monster. I've been using a 10HP Troybuilt 28" 2 stage walkbehind and she can throw 40' if the snow is right, and I find bluestone from the driveway up to 60' away when spring comes around.

Your right, your right, I need to settle down because you non-Simplicity guys get really sensitive. After a big snow a couple of years ago I took my 912 over to my neigbors place, up the road, as he looked kind of buried in snow, I was long since done with my own driveway, which is 5 times the size of his. Anyway, I ran circles around his $7000 Deere 322. He was so embarrassed he hasnt spoken to me since! So let this be a lesson to all. Take it easy on those poor souls who are too dumb or too stubborn to go with the best!

I only have AC'c and Simplicity's in the garden tractor catagory. But I do like the early cub cadets, I don't really like green that much. When I was a teenager I used to drive a JD model B with a manure spreader as one of my after school jobs. Whenever I see JDgreen I start smelling Manure.LOL

Jim V., I was at the first Plow Day. I took about 2 hours of video that was editted and offered for sale by another Cub Cadet Forum member, I collected a bunch of photos from Cub Cadet Forum members and sold Photo CDs. No competition just fun. Several Cub Cadet dealers and some forum members donated some stuff as door prizes and raffle prizes. Steve Blunier was the guy that organized it after a suggestion from Ken Updike. It was a great time. Unfortunatelly I missed the fall Plow Day. In the future there will likely be one Plow Day per year. The Spring event was kind of a trial run. Contact Steve Blunier (you can get his e-mail address at the IH Cub Cadet forum), who knows perhaps we could get a joint Cub Cadet and Simplicity Plow Day for some friendly competition. Kraig

Got to remember guys, a machine is only as good as it's operator. I love my Simplicity snow blower, but have talked to guys that do not know how a single stage thrower is supposed to work.

I have the 8" HD Moldboard for my Wards Plow Trac (Simplicity Model V) and it is my favorite attachment. I just turned my neighbors 30' x 100' garden last weekend, and it shure was fun. I feel guilty taking his money.

What we really need to do is challenge the cub cadet and deere guys to a snow plowing day! A couple of Simplicities with single stage blowers could, literally, bury about a dozen deeres and cadets. With one on each side, they would never know what hit em! On second thought, thats not such a good idea, we might make em cry! Worse yet, we might hurt them, send them to the hospital or something! So we better not.

Easy now Les, some of us, like me for example are multi brand oriented. I like garden tractors period. I've stated before that my Model 700 gets me going just looking at her. I don't think my 582 Cub Cadet would have a problem taking on most tractors. Unless you can blow snow 100 feet don't bother challenging that baby. Not a single stage and it can sure annihilate the snow and sometimes my neighbors cars if I'm not careful! Hope it snows this year on Long Island, doesn't look good for that to happen though and I really want to try out my Model 700 and its great looking 3 belt snow blower. Woody

Les, I have two Cub Cadets one is a 1968, model 125 the other is a 1969 model 125, I also have an AC 620 I guess that makes me a multi brand collector. I'll put one of my Cub Cadet 125s with it's 42" single stage snowthrower up against any single stage snowthrower equiped Simplicity or AC you might have. I have a photo of it in action that I'd like to send you. I even have some MPG files (video files in the mpeg format) of it in action I could send for you or anyone interested, to compare to the performance of your tractor(s). Send me an e-mail if you wish to get a copy of the photo or MPG files, please specify which you would like. Simply put ACub Cadet is superior to John Deere. :o) Kraig
