Seat upgrade B series seats and more

Mack

Recommended Posts

I picked up a B-12 seat frame from Bryan(Osenga) a few weeks ago. A couple of emails and Sandy Lake(thanks Brenda)had the cushions at my door. If it ever warms up here, I have a couple more upgrades for this tractor. One, I had Dan(rokon)send me and another thats been sitting around my shop for quite a while. Will make a nice plowday tractor once the hydro lift and 16 hp Briggs are added.

Looks great Paul! I have a B-12 frame her too that I'd like to get redone. How's the main seat cover held on...drawstring?

Yes, a drawstring. It took two sets of hands to get it on. I wrestled with it on my own for awhile.sm00

Very nice! I'm working on my B12 seat now too. I got my cusion set from Wells but they look about the same. expensive & rare seats but the most comfortable FDT seat for sure IMO

Just a black steering wheel and you'll have a proper B12 B16 dOd

The seat upgrade got an upgrade. Note the tool box.The dirt pile didn't get moved into the low spots last year like I had hoped. So for now it's like a little test range. I put these Carlisle Tru Power's on the B-10 and gave it a test. Climbed right up with no problems.:D

Very good lookin stuff Mack! I've really enjoyed the seats I have from Mary. I don't want to hijack, but can you tell me...that standard 300 seat, is that a similar seatpan as a small frame tractors, like this?

It looks like they are about the same, 'cept that yours has a taller backreast. I need something for that Serf, and yours looks NICE! ;)

Mary was showing me the differences in some of the seats when I was there. She showed me the Big Ten brackets and mentioned that they are exclusive to that model. Turns out I wasn't paying attention to what I had at home.

IMG1873.jpg

There are two bolts on each bracket close together instead of one in the center of each like the B-1 and the Early B-10. Will need to change that to the correct one too.

IMG1875.jpg

Some Simplicity's used the cushions also. These brackets are mounted on a Landlord 101 (1965) seat deck. Could have been switched from an earlier model I guess.

Keith Gearhardt and his son paid me a visit today. We discussed how best to mount one of these seats to the lawn trailer. Mary is going to make me one a little wider and with a taller backrest. Here's a few picks of Keith's bench seat. "Yellowbee" is Keith & Mary's user ID here on SimpletrACtors club.

Looks good! Had fun that day. He gave us a tour and let me take a spin on the HB314 (just a little jealous of that!) I have always wanted a loader. Now have to get that seat drilled for Mary to finish.
