If you go to the link below you can download the operators manual for your tractor. That should answer your question. You will need to type in the Mfg. no. of the tractor which should start with 169XXXX or 990XXX. You didn`t mention the model number of tractor.

Have two opposed twins, and I believe both use just about 1.5 qt. I always check after the first qt. and add slowly after. Depends on how much drains out when you change. I always tilt the tractor frame a bit and let drain for some time.

Use 30 in the summer tractor, and 5W30 in the winter one. The 5212.5 has like 2000 hour on it, and this week goes to get the valves adjusted. Change oil in them every 25ish hours. Blow out the sheet metal covers every other time I cut. Like to think it helps.
