4000 series; what's the story?

Recommended Posts

We have several of these in the area and they look semi-vintage. below is a link to an example near my home.

I don't seem to ever catch any references to them in any posts that I read. Are they just a lawn mower and this site is geared to more versatile machines w/ PTOs?

Thanx for your patience with the new guy, Dave

The 4000 series tractors (and the 5000 and 6000 series) are used

by many club members. Some of them have hydrostatic transmissions and

PTO's, and can be fitted with tillers and blowers.

They are not as strong or versatile as the large frame tractors,

but many of the members here had or have one. So if you have

questions or problems with yours, go ahead and ask!

Tom

I wouldn't call them vintage, there are still quite a few running about. They (4000) did have only a few options, blade, snow blower, lawn and grass vac and a cab. My daughter has a 4111 manual shift and is content with it. They filled a market, mainly lawn maintenance.
