Hydro fluid change?

The drain plug is on the lower right hand side of the transaxle. I would change the filter and readjust fluid level after running it a little bit. You refill with the tube (3/8" pipe sticking up in the rear of the tractor, make sure it is 1/2" from the back plate. When filling you must lift the vent pin right about the left axle to vent air. This must be lifted when checking level (which is at the top of the fill tube). Good Luck! Mike S.

Well I bought the 7117H for $65 and bolted on a pair of rear tires and dropped in a K-341, It was a real pain since the wires were cut. I'd like to drain and replace the hydro fluid, because I don't know how long it has been sitting, or if it's the original fluid, and I don't even know if it's low. How do I do this? All my other tractors are manual. Also how would I go about bleeding it. Lastly do I fill the filter first then install it or do I just put it on? Thanks as always, John

If the oil u drain is red then refill it with ATF (Dexron) If it is more of an oil color then use 821XL power fluid or a comparible brand. Capacity is 3 qt. Run it to charge the filter then recheck. Lift the breather Mike referred to while u check it. Fill to within 3/4" of top of pipe. Bill

Well all went well. Changing the fluid isn't as bad as my friend made it out to be. The fluid was oil colored except a lot darker when I opened the air vent there was a lot of rust in the elbow and the valve it's self was rusted solid. I drove it through with a punch installed a new spring (thanks to an expired pen) and every thing works fine. suspect that the tractor was low on fluid and sat for awhile before I found it. I just wanted to say thank you guys for your knowelege and helpfulness. Thanks again, John N P.S. Bill, I'm the guy from Wantage NJ and I'm very pleased with the parts you sent out to me, I'll be calling again in the next week to order some more stuff. Thanks again for your help.
