Plow day at Bear's

Recommended Posts

steve-wis

Tried out the 6216 with the plow the other day at Bear's house, plowing an addition to his garden. Really tough sod, hadn't been turned in about 30 years and driven over alot. I discovered I need weight on the front, chains on the rear (I borrowed one chain for the top-side tire from Claire), and more fine tuning of the plow setup. But it was fun and we got it done. I am on the 6216, Claire is on his Allis.....

Thats awesome Steve! I love seeing another 6200 in the dirt. I found them to be a bit light in the front as well. Especially when the moldboard hits something that doesn't want to move. Fortunately the engineers had the forsite to make the front tool carrier so that other things are easy to modify and mount, like a front weight!

Looks like a lot of fun!

Awesome Steve...I love seeing your pics because I'm always amazed how much work you can get from the smaller garden tractors. That 6216 can really pull. dOd

(I want a plow too. It is high on my future want list)

Greg,

The smaller ones can do alot of work for sure, and the 6216 is really a 6214.5, the previous owner pulled the 16 hp twin and replaced it with a 14.5 hp single with ohv. I certainly didn't lack for power with the 10 inch plow.

I remember the thread when you posted the "new" 14.5hp engine. I had an identical engine in an off-brand lawn tractor years ago.Funny but Quick story...I needed to mow down an old corn field to build a house so I took a new MTD lawn tractor with THAT engine and "Mowed" the cornfield down....It took quite a while but got it done. The brand new mower deck spindles were shot but the engine held up fine. When I took it back to the Farm & Fleet store for warranty work the mechanic said; How did you smoke the spindles this fast??? mowing corn?? I couldn't tell him, THAT was exactly what I did :D They covered the repairs sm01 Very strong/durable engine dOd

Awesome action shots. Great work. The power of these machines is remarkable.

I have never plowed anything but snow. I use my tractors to cut grass mainly. Pull a garden cart (Simplicity Tilt/Dump model of course).

It's fun to watch 'em run!

Good morning peeps! I’m always searching for helpful information with my AC collection. Hope to find out new information and pass on my own experience in restoration. Here are some pics of my babies. I’m still looking for front rims for the 410 so yesterday I put the 310 wheels on took it for a drive. Working pretty good but still needs some carb work. Gotta get the 310 running next. Have a great day!😁
