Onan electronic conversion

Has anyone tried any of the electronic conversions on their Onan CCKB's. I have seen a couple that claim to work but would rather hear from someone that has used them.

Thanks

Scott,

Onan (Cummins) did make an electronic ignition conversion kit for the CCK's some years back. They were very pricey and from the pictures in the URL links below, the module looks like a Pertronix unit which still used the cam points plunger to move the magnet on the points arm; thus this was not a truely no moving mechanical parts conversion. The Onan PN availability of this kit is probably more rare than hen's teeth at this point (and could not imagine the "today" price if you were to find one).

Not an expert, but I don't think the $10 electronic triggers work on battery coil ignitions, and the factory kits are NLA. but Kirks engines did offer the pointsaver - if I'm not wrong, basically a resistor handles the transfer of the large current, so the points last longer and a couple other benefits.
